The Environmental Management Assistance Program (EMAP) of the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) presents a series of webinars that will focus on how small businesses in specific industries can address environmental issues, become more sustainable and grow their profits.
EMAP's Sustaining Your Business webinar series will provide an excellent opportunity to learn best practices in your industry that will help you comply with environmental requirements and save money.
The first webinar in the series, Sustaining Your Business: Craft Breweries will be held December 8, 2016 at 1pm and will focus on craft breweries, a fast growing industry sector in Pennsylvania.One key to their sustainability and success is learning how to operate them in a way that will save money while reducing their environmental footprint. 
Register for this free webinar to learn how craft breweries can make great tasting beer while helping out the environment, the community and their bottom line. Topics covered will include ways to increase the efficiency of solid waste, water & wastewater, and energy usage, how to setup a bench-marking system to measure environmental performance and reach realistic targets, and resources available to both breweries in planning and recently established small businesses.
Cheri Chastain, Sustainability Manager for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., will offer a first-hand narrative on projects Sierra Nevada has implemented to demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable brewing practices since they began operations in 1979. Jeremy Hancher, EMAP environmental consultant, will provide attendees with small business resources and things every brewery can do to implement sound environmental practices as both a startup and existing craft brewery.
