Onsite Assessments

EMAP’s professional staff are available to visit your facility and provide recommendations specifically tailored for your business.

During the visit, EMAP staff can identify air emission sources and discuss air, waste, water, or pollution prevention questions that you may have. Often, the site visit confirms that a facility is operating in compliance with the applicable regulations, but we cannot fully guarantee that your facility or operations will be in absolute compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

Request an Onsite Assessment

Contact EMAP by calling our toll-free environmental hotline at 877-ASK-EMAP, send us a message on the website, or email us at questions@askemap.org.

An EMAP environmental consultant will respond to your request and have a brief conversation about your small business and your operations. At this time, we can schedule an appointment for an environmental onsite assessment. We will also ask about health & safety protocols at your facility so we can come prepared with the proper PPE.

Visit your Business Location or Facility

On the day of the onsite assessment, our EMAP consultant with meet with you and any small business representative you deem important to the conversation. We typically have a brief introductory meeting and then will ask you to guide us around your workplace to tour the facility and see how your operation performs. Our EMAP consultant will ask questions and will help identify environmental issues that may require corrective action or appropriate follow-up.

Follow up and next steps

After the tour of your facility, our EMAP consultant will review any findings and will discuss the appropriate follow-up. This may require some additional information on your part.

A note about assessments

Some onsite assessments may only address one or several environmental issues.  Other times our onsite assessments take a more general approach to look at your operations with a larger lens.

This is an opportunity to have a second set of eyes & ears come to your facility so you can learn and understand how your small business can make environmental improvements.
